Tink You Very Much!

No I didn’t make Latka from Taxi cupcakes! I’m talking about Tinkerbell! The coolest Pixie fairy ever! She’s stepped out of Peter Pans (pesky) shadow and emerged as her own little powerhouse! I’ve always loved Tinkbell..ever since my parents bought me my first Tinkerbell Name Heart from Disney World when I was six. So when a friend said she was throwing her daughter, Emily,  a Tinkerbell party last year, I jumped at the idea of making Tink cupcakes!

Since now days you can’t turn around without seeing Tink on something, finding cupcakes supplies was pretty easy. I bought some adorable liners on Amazon, as well as some Tink cupcake rings! I have a rule…when you can, add Cupcake rings!

I decided to do the typical yellow and chocolate cake.. as well as Strawberry cake! I love the color (and taste!) of the Strawberry cake! I colored some of the white icing with food coloring to match Tink’s color palette of Purple and Mad Hatter Green! I also added some chocolate as well… the party isn’t complete without some chocolate! I also found these amazing star sprinkles that fit the Tink look so well!

Everything came together amazingly and oh so magical!

I then moved on to the cake and used adorable tink toppers I found locally, and a Tink candle! CUTE!

The cake had to be purple and I tried a pink flower on top… I was happy with the outcome!

Emily had a great bowling party and squealed when she saw the cupcake/cake presentation!

Picture 5Tink was so nice… I made them twice! :) The second batch was from another friend, who’s daughter loves Tink!  So of course I had to make some Tink Cuppies for Ms Skyler! I used the same idea… with the cupcake rings and sprinkles but altered the icing a bit.  Picture 6I used a two tone method, using pink and purple in one piping bag! With a Wilton 1M tip, the swirl was perfect and oh so adorable! And have I mentioned I love the star sprinkles!? I mean… look at them! So cute I wanna puke! (ew sorry) I also added some regular round large sprinkles, some call them Quins, to the mix. The two toned added a more whimsical look to the cuppies!

I of course added some chocolate to the mix…. because chocolate is like the fun friend that always starts conga lines or a game of limbo.. you HAVE to invite them in order for anything to be fun!

I used a tighter star tip to add some variety to the look… I think the turn out was adorable and fun!

Seriously? Look at those! I think our pixie friend would be really happy with those!

Then I moved on to the cake! I found an amazing topper online (can you sense that I love Amazon.com!?) and decided to go for it!

I baked a standard triple tiered cake and slathered (great word huh?!) on some pink icing (the birthday girl’s fav) with Mad Hatter green accents! The end result was nice.. I know I have room for improvement.. but I was still happy with it! I realize I am still learning :)

Picture 9 When I had boxed them all up and ready for delivery… Skyler and her parents came by to pick them up.  I really honestly love the look on a kid’s face when they see cupcakes…. its like the greatest thing ever. I really live for it. Skyler’s face lit up and she smiled so big when she saw the cuppies and the cake!

I love Tinkerbell… and I love cupcakes. So anytime I get to combine the two… that’s a magical day :)
